Nine Western Sydney Councils Make the Switch to LED Lighting


In an effort to save energy and reduce electricity costs, nine Western Sydney Councils are making th switch to LED street lighting

The Light Years Ahead project has been launched by the Western Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (WSROC) and is tipped to save councils an estimated $21 million over 20 years at current electricity prices. LED lamps emit a longer lasting, bright white light and are replacing old incandescent street light bulbs in nine western Sydney council areas. It will be rolled out across Blacktown, the Blue Mountains, Fairfield, Hawkesbury, The Hills, Holroyd, Liverpool, Parramatta and Penrith. Read more at the Sydney Morning Herald.
