Lighting System

Everyone wants to save money, especially on the bills. If you’re looking for ways to save on your utility cost at home other than installing energy friendly lights, consider connecting these features to your existing lighting system. These features are not only budget friendly, but they also let you do your share in conserving power and using as little resources as needed.

You can get most of these items at your local hardware or home improvement store. They’ll need installing, but other than paying for the electrician’s fee and the items themselves, they’re a really good investment that can last for years.

Timer If you’re the type of person that forgets to turn off the lights before leaving for work or if you don’t want to come home to a dark house, timers are the best things to have installed to your lighting system. You can basically set what time your lights turn on and off in a daily basis.

No more worries about leaving them on all day or having to walk around in the dark to get to your door, just set the timer and you’re all set to go.

Dimmers You can install these for both your indoor and outdoor area. Dimmers are like little knobs that are integrated to the room’s lighting system. This allows you to control the brightness of the light bulbs, so they’re perfect for areas like the bedroom or dining room to create a nice, relaxed and romantic mood.

Placing them outdoor can also make you adjust colored outdoor or LED bulbs to give out the perfect brightness.

Sensors For areas like hallways, walkways and even lawns, you can install a sensor which triggers the light to turn on only when someone is walking in the area. These are grate for those spaces where you actually only need light for a short amount of time.

You can even set the sensor to keep the light on for whatever amount of time you want.
