Most people say that the center of a home should be the living room. It’s a place where everyone can just kick back and relax, watch some TV, and spend some quality time with the family. It’s also a space where you can entertain and welcome your guest. The living room is definitely the most multi-functional room in any home. Keeping this area well-lit should be a priority. After all, who wants to go into a dark and gloomy looking house? Here are a few tips on how you can maximize lighting in your living room.

Change the bulbs If you’re still using old incandescent or florescent lights, you might want to consider changing to newer more economical power friendly lights. There are a number of energy saving bulbs out there that offers better light output and they don’t use as much energy as older, regular bulbs do. Try using light emitting diodes, these bulbs last much longer than incandescent bulbs and they offer the same brightness. You can get these bulbs in most hardware stores or even online.

Have other light sources Have a main lighting system installed, but don’t forget to place a few standing lamps and table lamps here and there for added light. You’re not trying to make the area super bright, but added lighting can help you spread out the light better. It also helps even out the amount of light in the area. Lamps can also give the space a more intimate look if you leave them on and turn of the main lighting system.

Know what to turn on Know which light to turn on or keep off in the living room. If you’re entertaining, then it’s best to have all of them on. But if you’re just at home with your family or when you’re alone, keep some lights on while leaving the others off. This is just more on to help you save power. A few LED bulbs are enough to light up the room. For any comments or questions, contact our customer support hotline.
