How to Make your Living Spaces Feel Less Depressing
For those of us living in small spaces in crowded cities, it’s easy for things to get gloomy, especially during the colder times of the year. Depression due to weather change is also common amongst countries that have the four seasons. The easiest way to minimise that gloomy feeling is by changing how your home looks. Here are a few tips to turn your space from gloomy to glam.
Light it up A well-lit area definitely lifts up any mood. You don’t have to make your home so bright. In fact, too much light is going to cause irritation to the eyes. You might also want to change your bulbs from a cool tone to a warm tone to minimize the harshness. Just make sure that your space is properly lit. Place a few lamps and LED bulbs around the room to brighten it up and you’ll be all set.
Keep it organized Spaces that are messy and unorganized are defiantly not welcoming and homey to look at. Make the most of your space and look for ways to save on storage areas. The best way to save space in tight places is to pile things up. Shoe boxes, drawers, shelves, these things can be piled up to make the space look bigger. Also, try not to overcrowd it with too much furniture and items.
Color adds life A dull white room looks boring and depressing. So add some color by picking out colored items, don’t settle with pastel or black and gray. You can even add color by using colored energy friendly bulbs. Not only do they add life to your space, they’re also low maintenance and they can last a very long time. Questions? Comments?
