Lights Wiring

Many of us are unknowingly staying in homes or apartments that are just too dark or dim. Unfortunately, it’s common for many not to have the money to call a technician to install additional lights. In some cases, landlords won’t even allow us to do install wiring for new lighting. However, there are a few ways for us to add more light to a room without even touching the wirings inside the walls. Here are a few tips on how to do just that.

Switch to LEDs Light emitting diodes (LEDs) are a new type of bulb that give off a brighter light and use 80 to 90 percent less power compared to regular lights like incandescent bulbs. They also last 10 times longer making them a huge help as far as maintenance goes. These benefits have quickly made LED bulbs the greenest, most energy efficient lighting solutions on the market. The downside is that they do cost a bit more than the other bulbs on the shelves, but if you buy them in bulk or sets, you get a good deal. You can also see the savings you get on your power bill by the first month of use.

Open a Window Sunlight is the best kind of light you can possibly get, and it’s free. If you have a bunch of thick curtains covering your windows, you might want to consider getting blinds that you can open and close instead. You can also replace your old curtains with newer ones made with lighter fabric. Check the flea market or thrift shop to get a good deal or you can make them yourself.

Add Some Mirrors Mirrors are the cheapest way to give your room a makeover and make it look bigger and brighter. Whatever light you have gets reflected back to the room and the reflection gives the optical illusion of a bigger space.
