Home Safety Tips – Getting your Emergency Lights Ready
Emergency lighting is one of the most overlooked things in the house. Everyone should be ready for anything, and having emergency lights around is one such way of doing just that. You’d be lucky to have a few flashlights lying around, but sometime, these are not enough. Here are a few tips to help you get ready to light up any emergencies that might happen.
Always have your lights charged Most emergency lights are chargeable. Just by making sure you keep them fully charged means that you’ll have them ready at any time. You can just leave them plugged into the socket or check on the battery meter from time to time. Some emergency lights actually automatically turn on when the power goes out so always keeps their auto light setting on.
The brighter the better When it comes to emergency lights, you’ll want to make sure you have something that gives out a strong and bright beam of light. Check out a few LED bulbs since these are very bright and they don’t have a warm-up period before they turn on. They’re also energy friendly which means that a good full battery can last a long time, perfect for emergency situations. LEDs come in different forms, from big fog lights to compact flashlights that you can easily carry around.
Batteries should be included Never forget to have a few batteries. Emergency lights commonly have a slot for batteries so even if it ran out of power, you can still plug in some batteries and use them. Keep your batteries in a cool place away from the sun to store them better. If you notice any leaks or cracks on them, throw them away. Damaged batteries might cause damage to your emergency lights.
