City of Nellore in India to Get LED Light Bulbs
The city of Nellore in India is finally banging farewell to inefficient incandescent lighting, replacing them with energy-efficient LED street lighting.
High energy consuming incandescent bulbs in the street lighting system will be a thing of past soon in Nellore and its surrounding areas, as the municipal corporation is all set to replace them with the Light Emitting Diode (LED) bulbs involving an expenditure of Rs. 17.42 crore. As part of the energy saving measures, the Nellore Municipal Corporation (NMC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL), which will supply the LED bulbs. Under the project, as many as 28,800 LED lights have been sanctioned to the city. Read more at the Hindu.
