Choosing Lights for your Baby’s Room
Everyone gets really excited when there’s a new baby coming. Whether you’re a first time parent or you’re bringing home your third child, you usually end up buying new things for the baby and start preparing their room. Some parents even go all out and hire a designer to create the perfect baby room. However, there’s usually one very important but easily over-looked detail, the lighting. Young babies are very sensitive to the light, so you need to be careful when choosing one for their room. Below are a few tips on picking out which light you should use.
Pick Soft Lighting Some light bulbs give out a strong, harsh beam of light which have a blue tone to it. This might be too bright for the baby and it could irritate their eyes. Pick a bulb with a warm, yellow tone which is softer and relaxing to the eyes. Most light bulb brands and kinds have these warm toned bulbs and even newer ones like LEDs have these.
No to Heat Regular light bulbs like incandescent tend to give off a lot of heat when they’re being used. This could cause your baby’s room to feel uncomfortable, especially if you have more than two of these lights set up. Instead, try to use bulbs that don’t heat up. They keep the room cool and they’re also safer to use.
Long Lasting Want your bulbs to last even when your baby is already old enough to run around? Choose newer energy friendly bulbs. These kinds of bulbs last 10 times longer than regular bulbs, and they use less power. They might be a bit expensive compared to other bulbs in the market, but they’re a great investment and can you a very long time. Questions? Comments?
