Michigan State University’s 25-year-old Breslin Center is going to shine brighter with new LEDs this summer. The 25-year-old arena will receive new LED lighting as part of Michigan State University’s continuing effort to increase energy efficiency across campus. “This should improve the fan experience,” said Diane Barker, the chief planning and projects officer for MSU’s Residential and Hospitality Services department. “It’s improved lighting, along with more energy efficient lighting.” Bill Whitbeck, the department’s project coordinator, said installation will begin on the $910,000, three-week project in early July. Barker said the project has a 9 ½-year payback on investment from the savings from the new lights. The whole story at Lansing State Journal.
