The WeMo system is usually hooked up to the lights in your house. Belkin is cutting out the middle man with its own LED light bulbs and starter kit for the home-automation system. The new $130 WeMo LED Lighting Starter Set comes with two dimmable bulbs and a wireless bridge. Individual bulbs are $40 each. The plug-in bridge connects the light bulbs to your wireless network and can support up to 50 bulbs. Like other WeMo products, the lights can be remotely activated and scheduled with an app for iOS and Android. In addition to Belkin’s scheduling and automation rules, the WeMo system works with IFTTT’s (If This Then That) online scripting service. Those familiar with the WeMo system knows that these are usually connected to the lighting system in homes. Belkin is now taking the middle man out of the equation and is introducing their own LED light bulb kit for their home automation system. More on Wired.
